Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP)

Below the surface of the ground the temperature is relatively constant, even during the Winter months. This constant temperature can be exploited to provide heating and cooling. Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) transfer this thermal energy, which is exchanged from the ground into the system through the use of buried pipes.  The heated water from the heat pump is then used to provide heating and cooling for buildings via heat underfloor heating systems, radiators and chill beams, etc.  Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) can be used in both commercial and residential properties and have several benefits:

  • A reduction in fuel cost
  • CO2 emissions are greatly reduced
  • Renewable and Sustainable energy source
  • Low maintenance
  • Eligible under the Renewable Heat Incentive
  • All aspects of the system are concealed either below the ground or within the development
