GECCO Named Project Manager for Manchester First Street

ASK Developments have named GECCO as Project Manager for their 300kW closed loop GSHP installation on the flagship First Street site in Manchester. First Street, a 20-acre scheme to extend the heart of Manchester city centre, is one of the most significant and prestigious schemes in the North West.

The redevelopment of the former BT building at the heart of the site, now called Number One First Street, has been awarded the "BREEAM Post Construction Certificate of Excellence", the first office building in the North West to achieve this level of accreditation, and one of only 7 in the Country.

Manchester City Council has recently announced that their 1,400 staff will relocate to Number One First Street in April 2010, whilst the Town Hall extension works take place.

The GSHP scheme consists of 35No. boreholes to 150m, and will provide both heating and cooling to the development.
