It all Adds up for GECCO!

GECCO have secured the contract to install a 50kW Ground Source Heat Pump system in the New Maths Building Lecture Theatre at Nottingham University. The contract was awarded by Ailsen Ltd, Specialist Building Contractors on behalf of Kier Marriot, the project Main Contractor.

The system to be installed by GECCO comprises a closed loop geo-exchange of 9No. boreholes to 134m in addition to the 1No. borehole to 100m previously installed for the successful Thermal Response Test undertaken by GECCO in October 2009.

The GSHP system will provide the project with the renewable aspect required by BREEAM in order to achieve a rating of Excellent on the site. The design of the scheme enables it to be easily tied into the existing district heating system at Nottingham University.
